Whatever your eyes “see” is how you perceive the world.
I have a special relationship with Pyrite – it was the mineral that got me motivated to start up this online crystal shop 2 years ago. So I will always be grateful to Pyrite for getting me started on this adventure.
From Krista Mitchell’s book Change Your Energy:
Pyrite is masculine, extroverted, yang, aggressive energy that helps you thrive, push through obstacles and succeed. Boosts ambition, energy and will. Fires up the metabolism and aids digestion. Attracts money, wealth & prosperity. Excellent for manifestation.
As for Lapis Lazuli, this stone helped me to create a vision. Although the vision I imagined in my mind didn’t manifest in the exact way I pictured – it still was a catalyst for magical things to occur in my life. I never thought that I would be doing any of this let alone get into the healing aspect.
From The Pocket Book of Stones by Robert Simmons:
Lapis Lazuli is a stone of visionary awareness, bringing new information to the mind in images rather than words. It enhances intellectual ability, making one a better learner and teacher. Lapis is a stone of initiation as well – a catalyst for a mystical journey to higher awareness.
Here’s a marker drawing that I did recently, I hope to take a better photo soon and replace this. Lately I have expressed boredom with just posting crystals on Instagram so I’ve been trying to change it up.
It’s been two years since I started Metaphysical Vibes, here are some things I’ve learned from this experience that I wanted to share with you.
There were some initial goals, the first goal was to make money selling something that I truly love. But with all things one puts their time and energy into, it really becomes more than just about making money; you have to acquire deep knowledge of what you are selling – you literally have to immerse yourself in all things metaphysical, especially for me since I named my crystal shop ‘Metaphysical Vibes’!
If you want this to be more than just a hobby, you also have to know the business and marketing side of it. There’s so much to learn and do and think about that it can easily get overwhelming.
So here are the pros and cons (at least for me), I will start with the ‘cons’ of having an online crystal shop.
– You will be spending money to make money, kind of like investing. I have spent money on inventory, packing & shipping supplies, gas and/or a rental to drive to and from gem shows, ads on Facebook, Google & Instagram. Luckily I know how to create graphics and build websites so I didn’t have to spend money on that, but now that I think about it – I DID spend money on increasing my skills as a content creator.
– You will be competing with so many other people who sell the same thing online.
– You will go through ups and downs, meaning: you won’t always make consistent sales.
– You will pay taxes, especially if you sell a lot.
+ Picking crystals and stones for your shop is so much fun, it’s really the best part of having a crystal shop. I pick them as if they were for me.😊
+ You will experience so much spiritual growth. My mindset is way different from 2 years ago. I also invested in my own education by getting certifications in Reiki and Trans Crystal Therapy.
+ You will meet wonderful people, buyers and sellers alike. I find that people who buy or sell minerals tend to be more kind and easy going.
+ You will learn a lot about minerals, from a geological and metaphysical point of view.
+ You will also learn the business and marketing part of it. How will people know about your business? That’s where marketing comes in.
+ You get to be creative and express yourself through the crystals and stones. You can setup your online shop however you like, take photos however you prefer, edit them in Photoshop, write about the crystals and create sacred and beautiful spaces that will attract buyers.
+ I’m a quiet person and pretty much an introvert so being able to do everything online without too much customer service is a dream come true for me. I love people, just in small doses.😉
While there are going to be expenses that you will incur when you start up your online crystal shop, the pros outweigh the cons as you will learn a lot. So if it calls to you, I say go for it! Abundance and prosperity is already yours, and there is enough for everyone.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to get started!
Visit Metaphysical Vibes to shop for crystals, all the ones featured in the photo are still available.
I saw this search phrase pop up on the website so I felt the need to write a blog post about it.
The question is: Can Crystals Be Dangerous?
Let’s look at this question from a few aspects:
From a physical point of view, yes they can be; they are minerals after all with very sharp points and edges. If you’re not careful handling them, there’s a chance that the crystal will cut up your fingers or hands.
The physical labor of mining these beautiful crystals so we can all enjoy them is also a very dangerous job.
Our minds are very powerful. If our thoughts are energetic vibrations then our thoughts can affect physical reality. Your life is a manifestation of your thoughts. It is said that once upon a time, the ancient civilizations of Lemuria and Atlantis misused the power of crystals. What we can learn from this is that we have to work with crystals that only serve the greater good of everyone, especially yourself.
This sort of ties in to the mental part. When the Lemurians & Atlanteans misused the crystals for their own selfish purposes, they completely forgot the spiritual aspect – of being connected and one with source energy.
We humans have a tendency to forget that we are spiritual beings having a human existence; we are often prone to greed and selfishness. And as a seller of crystals and stones, it’s always important for me to be mindful of this.
From an emotional point of view, crystals can be dangerous if we aren’t emotionally balanced. Since crystals hold neutral light energy, they can easily pick up on vibrations in the environment they’re in. For example: if you are in a living space with crystals and you tend to fight or argue with people in that same space – the crystal will pick up on that and reflect those bad vibes.
Definitely get into a routine of clearing your crystals while also clearing yourself of negative emotions on a regular basis.
So to answer the question: can crystals be dangerous? Crystals CAN be dangerous if we’re the ones not being conscious and not being aware of how we are working with them. Remember that we are stewards, caretakers of the earth. As with everything, use your best judgment, using a healthy mix of intuition with common sense.
Chakras – you’ve probably heard or read about them a lot these days. Look at the hashtag for ‘chakra’ or ‘chakras’ on Instagram and you’ll see over 2 million posts related to it.
But really though – what IS a chakra, and why is it important?
Chakras are basically energy centers of the energetic or subtle body. Though we can’t see them, they are often depicted as wheels or discs that are constantly spinning, each one a color of the rainbow. Together they form our human energetic field, sometimes called the rainbow body but more commonly known as the aura.
Although these are abstract concepts, we are actually experiencing the chakras at work daily through our thoughts, feelings and how we perceive life. Each chakra is also connected to organs in our physical body.
For example, the color red represents our first chakra often called the root or base chakra – located at the end of our spine – the tailbone. This chakra represents our connectedness to our physical body and the earth as well as feeling centered, grounded and at home. When this chakra is imbalanced, we can expect to feel the opposite: feeling spaced out or not present, not connected to our body; not feeling safe.
How can healing stones help with our chakras?
The purpose of learning about our chakras is to bring awareness to our own actions and behaviors. We want to achieve balance and harmony in our energetic body, for eventually it affects the physical body.
We can work with healing stones – stones that correlate to our chakras – to help bring us back into balance.
You can visit a crystal healer to help you with this or you can do it yourself by placing stones along your body to effect healing.
Here is an example of healing stones you can work with to help balance the 7 chakras of your body:
1st Chakra – Red – Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz Place in between your crotch area or right in between your upper thighs.
2nd Chakra – Orange – Carnelian, Garnet Place on your abdomen area below the belly button.
3rd Chakra – Yellow – Citrine, Pyrite, Tiger’s Eye Place on your stomach area above the belly button.
4th Chakra – Green (or Pink) – Green Aventurine, Rose Quartz Place on your heart.
5th Chakra – Blue – Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli Place on your throat.
6th Chakra – Violet – Amethyst, Fluorite Place on your forehead or third eye center.
7th Chakra – White – Quartz, Selenite Place above your head.
This is just a basic rundown of the 7 Chakra system and the healing crystals & stones you can use to heal, balance and align your energetic body.
I’ve been thinking a lot about cosmic starseeds lately and wondering if I am one.
I’ve also been YouTubing Light Language these last few weeks and luckily I’m attending a Light Language Activation at Open Eye Crystals today. I’ve been reading online a lot about these subjects and even though I feel as if I don’t really fit the description of a starseed, I’m still fascinated by the idea that I could be one.✨
I mean, why does this stuff even interest me, you know? There HAS to be a reason why my spirit pulls me in these particular directions.
So I hope whoever resonates with this crystal cluster will see the same thing as me as it truly feels out of this world and wouldn’t mind hanging on to it a bit longer. Since Quartz is known to amplify energy, the fact that I think this looks like a spaceship can literally induce multidimensional travel during meditation.
And what do I mean by ‘multidimensional travel’?
Even though we are in our physical bodies everyday, I also believe that we are constantly ‘traveling’ through our other bodies. Like when we daydream or dwell on a past memory or think about the future, or even when we’re scrolling through social media on our phones – we are traveling. It may not be a physical location, but it still exists as a dimension just like the tv show “The Twilight Zone”.
Let’s say for example that when you’re reading a book – you’re imagination is taking you to wherever that book is taking place – fiction or nonfiction. Even with a nonfiction book, your mental body – the intellectual part of you – has transported you to the information you’re absorbing.
You can also experience multidimensional travel through meditation. Ask your guides to take you there, I’m sure they will be more than glad to help.
I read something in Robert Simmons’ Book of Stones where he says (just not in these exact words) that everything he writes in his books is channeled information and is not scientifically proven. It is all based on personal experimentation: spending time meditating with the crystals and stones and recording the information he receives to learn about how they affect him personally.
So instead of me googling or reaching for my copy of Book of Stones, I will do my best to tell you about this fantastic mineral specimen: Phantom Chlorite Quartz
Phantom Chlorite Quartz has a ghostly vibe to it, like you can literally see it’s previous stages of growth. It’s almost like a skeleton, but not really. And so appropriate because at the time of this blog post, Halloween is just 5 days away.👻
Each quartz crystal grows in layers; often times a Quartz that’s growing will have other minerals include itself in its growth process – and so it is with Phantom Chlorite Quartz, whose layers are visible via the Chlorite that included itself.
Metaphysically, Chlorite helps us to heal our wounds, allowing us to accept ourselves as we are; acknowledging the mistakes we’ve made in the past and appreciating how far we’ve come in life. We can look at our past and observe it in present time, without attaching any emotions to it. With Quartz in the mix, these properties are amplified and magnified.
Grounding – you probably hear that word a lot if you’re into metaphysical or spiritual topics.
But what IS grounding and why is it important?
We hear the word ‘ground’ often – everyday actually but don’t think much of it, as a matter of fact I think we take it for granted.
We live on the ground, the ground which is the earth. Our feet are on it and we’re standing on it everyday. But again, we don’t think much of it.
Grounding is important because when we don’t ground, our energy can be all over the place and it’s more likely that things can go wrong throughout your day. We might even find ourselves in a situation that we didn’t see coming because we didn’t ground ourselves.
So what is grounding then?
Grounding is the intentional act of connecting to your body, the ground and to the earth.
You might be thinking to yourself as you read this ‘but I’m already on the ground, I’m already here.’
Are you really here though, or is your spirit wandering while someone is talking to you? You can be physically ‘here’ but still wander. Every single one of us is definitely guilty of daydreaming, thinking about yesterday, worrying about the future or just overthinking in general. We all get distracted one way or another.
So, how do we ground?
We ground by visualizing that we are connected to the earth through a grounding cord. Your grounding cord can be anything.
One of the ways to achieve this is by visualizing roots coming out of your feet and going deep into the ground just like a tree, or you can imagine an electric bolt of lightning piercing through you and running straight into the ground, straight into the core of the earth.
Most people use the tree as a perfect metaphor for grounding: a tree has its roots planted firmly into the earth. It is not easily shaken or will fall down if it’s a windy day, nor will it just slip away when it’s raining hard.
This is what we want to achieve when we are grounding ourselves – we want to be firmly ‘planted’ to the ground and not be swayed when we’re faced with stressful people or situations. You want to be calm and centered.
Do this everyday – before you leave your home, before you start driving or whenever you just feel ‘spacey’. You can ground wherever you are, even when you’re just standing somewhere.
Some popular crystals and stones that can help with grounding:
Agates – calm and stabilizing
Black Tourmaline – protects and purifies
Hematite – great for those who are extra spaced out
Obsidian – protects and releases
Jaspers – nurturing and creative Earth energy
Jet – protects
Smokey Quartz – transmutes negative energy
Even Quartz crystals when programmed, can be used for grounding; crystals and stones that are of a darker color – black, brown, gray, red.
You can place them near you whether at home or at work, you can also place them in your car.
This might be an odd topic to write about on here, but I feel that it needs to be addressed.
When you have a business, often times you will be criticized for being too pricy or expensive. Even a small business like myself has already gotten a couple of comments about it. This becomes normal as you expose yourself to the public more and more; they’ll be sure to leave comments on Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, etc. And that’s totally fine; everyone have a right to express their thoughts…it is the internet after all.
I suppose I could talk about all the expenses that I’ve accumulated to have this business up and running (especially here in California), but that’s probably boring and irrelevant to you so I won’t. Besides, I chose to have those expenses and I am confident that it will be worth it in the long run.
I’ll definitely offer a sale or discount here and there but I won’t lower my prices consistently just because someone is telling me that I’m pricy or expensive. To each their own and setting boundaries on what you will or will not do to make a sale is important.
When I buy crystals from other people (and I do)…if I really want it, I buy it regardless of price. I don’t shame the seller into making them feel that their price is too high, I understand completely that they have to make a profit too. We ALL have to make a profit. I mean, that’s the WHOLE point of having a business right? Doing what we love AND making a profit from it; otherwise what’s the point of being in business if we’re not going to thrive? It’s too much energy and effort.
Amazon and Walmart are able to sell stuff for cheap because they are mega giants and are in a capitalist/competitive mindset. Small businesses are not, at least not me.
So this is me just putting it out there to anyone who happens to be reading this:
Buy what you love, even if it is expensive. Would you value it just as much if you bought it for cheap?
Don’t get me wrong; I also look for lower priced crystals and stones on occasion. But it also largely depends on its energy.
I’m reading a book about creating money and one of the concepts it talks about is this:
If you spend money without joy or love, out of obligation, resentment or worry, or with a feeling that you cannot afford what you buy, it will keep you out of the abundant flow of money.
If you buy things that you truly want with joy, your abundance will open up even more; it sends a message to your subconscious that you are deserving of such things.
I hope this gives you, the reader, some perspective.
And no, I’m not trying to convince you to buy crystals from me (although, I’d love it if you do and only if you see a crystal or stone that vibes with your personal energy).⚡
I’m also not saying that you should always buy expensive things and go into debt; rather, treat yourself every now and then to something that you really want, regardless of the price. If you know it will make you happy then go for it.
I chose to post a photo of this stunning Pyrite mineral since the day I wrote this is Thursday, day of the planet Jupiter; a planet associated with expansion. It is available for purchase here.
Speaking to yourself in the most loving and kind way.
Treating yourself like you would your best friend.
Forgiving yourself for past mistakes.
Actively listening to your own wants and needs.
I could keep going but I think you get my drift.
Why is self love important?
Self love is important because it can directly affect our health. If you’re into metaphysical topics, most books and teachers on the subject will say this:
dis-ease manifests in our body before we even feel it; it starts in the invisible parts of ourselves (the etheric body and our aura) which is directly related to our thoughts and emotions.
I realize that the statement above probably sounds really vague, abstract and kind of ‘out there’. Believe me when I say that these concepts were foreign to me at some point too, but if it interests you enough then the information will start to sink in.😊
Know that you are not just your physical body – you also have an emotional, mental and spiritual body; four bodies total.
Now if you REALLY want to get technical, we actually have more than 4 bodies and more than 7 chakras. I will stick to the topic and save that for another blog post.
So it is important to begin to think loving thoughts about ourselves, it’s important to drop the negativity and the self hate. When have you ever felt good and happy about saying bad things about yourself? If it doesn’t feel good, then why continue?
I used to be in the same boat as you; I was always quick to call myself stupid, an idiot or a dumbass. I wasn’t kind to myself and I was especially harsh about my looks. I often thought I was fat and ugly.
After awhile, you notice that you just don’t feel good about yourself and the pattern of negativity keeps on repeating. You keep having the same experiences that seem to suck or drain your energy dry, like stressful relationships with people where nothing ever goes smoothly or just being constantly overworked at your job. And so you resulted in eating bad food or drinking and doing drugs.
And then it just keeps on happening over and over again and you can’t get out.
Perhaps you’re stuck in a similar kind of pattern in life that keeps on repeating that you’d like to get out of.
What are these patterns that I’m talking about? Patterns come in the form of negative thoughts, feelings, behaviors, actions.
I never considered myself super feminine or girly so I was not attracted to Rose Quartz for a long time. One of the books that really changed my life though is a book by Louise Hay called You Can Heal Your Life. The affirmations in that book were simple and really helped me to reprogram my brain to think better thoughts about myself.
What does self love have to do with Rose Quartz?
A whole lot actually, being that Rose Quartz IS only the most popular stone for healing our hearts and learning to love ourselves. No matter what gender you are, if you are ready to let love back in, you will be attracted to Rose Quartz.💗🌹💗
You can start by just simply getting some Rose Quartz in raw or polished form (spheres, pyramids, self-standing towers, whatever your preference) and start putting it in your bedroom. In some ways, you don’t really have to do anything because just by you intending to get the stone and wanting to place it in your home, the healing has already begun. Crystals and stones are intelligent in that way and Rose Quartz immediately starts to do its gentle yet powerful work without you realizing it.🌸
Suggestion: combine Rose Quartz with an affirmation.
Hold your Rose Quartz to your heart, close your eyes and begin breathing in and out for a few minutes. You can think about what it is you’d like to let go of or just breathe. Whatever you choose, know that Rose Quartz is already healing you.
You can say “I am a loving and beautiful person”
or you can say your name and then say “I love and accept you as you are”.
In Louise Hay’s book, she suggests that we do this in front of a mirror. For me, it was kind of hard to look at myself and say “I love and accept you as you are” but if you keep practicing you will eventually dissolve those blocks of discomfort.
When we are actively working with Rose Quartz and using affirmations on a regular basis, we can learn to undo the negative thought patterns that tend to occupy the mind which lead to physical manifestation that is often not good for us.
As the late Louise Hay says – YOU can heal your life.
