Should We Return the Crystals Back to the Earth?

A lovely medicine woman I follow on Instagram posted something today that struck a chord with me. Here is her post:

Ok… I’ve waited a while to post this but Spirit asks that I not wait any longer. 💛. Disclaimer: I write as a crystal lover like so many of you. I used to collect crystals insatiably. I was aching to re-member. The Kontomble say the new crystal is us returning the crystals to the earth, inside the earth where they be-long. Recently I watched a documentary called “Aluna”. It’s the Kogi people of Colombia’s warning to the world. ❤. There was a part in the documentary that particularly struck me. They were speaking about returning their ancestors’ gold artifacts to the earth, where they be-long. They said, “These objects were left in special places. They are like people. They are part of the thread for us to connect with. They must not be moved. They are buried. Selling this is like selling a person. Stop doing this! It’s like selling a child.” They also said speaking about a particular gold artifact shaped like a macaw, “It’s a macaw. It was found in the place of the macaw. There used to be many macaws. But because of the looting there are almost no macaws now. The birds are disappearing.” In other words, taking that out of the earth has repercussions in the physical world. I write, not as someone who walks a squeaky clean walk. I write as a human being in progress. ❤. However, they burn through me (Spirit) to deliver this message with each post I see baring someone’s latest crystal. They are so beautiful, of course. What would happen though, if we heeded Kontomble’s message about the new crystal being us ritualistically, apologetically, as community re-turning the crystals to the earth where they be-long? So many of us crystal lovers are really sensitive be-ings, I feel. 🙏. #thenewcrystalisusreturningthecrystalstotheearth

A post shared by Liv Wheeler (@kontomble_medicine) on

At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about it. I wasn’t upset, but it did make me feel a certain type of way for sure. I dwelled on this on my drive home – as if a small part of me felt bad that I’m somehow contributing? Though I’m not exactly the one mining Mother Earth, I am buying from distributors and selling them and I have my own crystal collection as well.

But then I also started reading the comments and gathering different points of views.

Here’s my take on it:

Each and every one of us is evolving and ascending at different times. Some of us are still getting to know crystals, some are still healing with the crystals’ assistance while others are ready to give them back to the earth so she can also heal.

I came home from work and was still thinking about it so I wrote this blog just to flesh out my own thoughts. I also Googled the title you see in this blog post and found another video that also made me feel better about the whole thing. This lady was talking about it in 2011, which indicates to me that people are and have been returning crystals to the earth, particularly in bodies of water. Thank you Little Grandmother, you can watch her video here.

Also thank you to Liv Wheeler of @kontomble_medicine for getting me to think about this; it definitely reminds me to take a step back from my own (selfish) desires and to remember to include the earth in my prayers.❤

So now if you’re reading this, I pose the question to you: should we return the crystals back to the earth? What are your thoughts?

Finding the Perfect Crystal or Stone is a Personal Experience

These crystals are from my personal collection: Aura Crystals, a Pink Lemurian Wand, Citrine, Green Aventurine, Moss Agate, Pyrite and Orange Calcite.

Let’s take a look at this word:

intuition

noun

1. direct perception of truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process; immediate apprehension.

2. a fact, truth, etc., perceived in this way.

3. a keen and quick insight.

4. the quality or ability of having such direct perception or quick insight.

What does the word ‘intution’ have to do with crystals?

A WHOLE lot, actually…more like EVERYTHING.

You see, people (myself included) are on the internet searching for something – they’re searching for answers to their questions like:

How do I cleanse, clear and charge my crystals

Which crystal should I buy

Which crystal or stone will takeaway my anxiety, depression, etc.

and so on and so on

It’s okay to search for answers to questions (I do it all the time), read books or follow your favorite thought leaders on social media, but at some point you also have to learn to trust your own feelings. Listen to your inner voice.

Why is it important to trust your feelings? Because feelings express YOUR truth.

Have you ever felt weird about something or someone but ignored it anyway and then something involving that same exact person or situation went completely wrong because you didn’t trust your initial feelings of weirdness?

Have you ever listened to music or saw something that just made you feel good?

I’m writing this blog post right now and it may or may not resonate with you. You may not agree with what I’m writing here and that’s okay!

It’s also important to trust your own inner compass because there’s lots of false gurus out there.

There’s also a lot of recycled, hackneyed quotes regarding crystals, entrepreneurship, self-help, spirituality and literally every topic imaginable.

There’s a lot of everything and it can easily get overwhelming.

So it is the exact same way with crystals and stones – there’s A LOT to choose from and it can start to feel overwhelming.

But the best part of choosing crystals?

Not all of them are going to vibe with you, not all of them are going to scream “pick me, pick me!” all at once.

Each crystal and stone is unique and one of a kind, no two are alike. It will be a completely subjective and personal experience and I guarantee you will be delighted.

If a crystal is calling you, you probably won’t be able to leave the store without buying it. Or maybe you left and you’re still thinking about that particular crystal. Safe to say that it was probably meant for you.

Whether you like shopping online or going to your local metaphysical store, go and have fun searching for that crystal or stone that’s calling you!😊

—————–

So I had originally used the word ‘subjective’ for this blog post before switching it to ‘intution’. This one works too if you’re not quite sure how intuition is supposed to work when choosing crystals:

subjective

adjective

1. existing in the mind; belonging to the thinking subject rather than to the object of thought (opposed to objective).

2. pertaining to or characteristic of an individual; personal; individual:
a subjective evaluation.

3. placing excessive emphasis on one’s own moods, attitudes, opinions, etc.; unduly egocentric.

4. Philosophy. relating to or of the nature of an object as it is known in the mind as distinct from a thing in itself.

5. relating to properties or specific conditions of the mind as distinguished from general or universal experience.

Conclusion:

You don’t always have to rely on internet search to find the perfect crystal or stone for you.

Trust yourself to make that decision, trust your intution.

How Can We Experience “Heaven on Earth”?

I’ve been seeing the phrase “heaven on earth” a lot more lately; I didn’t know what it fully meant until I started delving into meditation and working with crystals.

When I think of heaven, I immediately think of how the movies portray heaven to be like: white clouds, a golden gate, everyone is wearing white…

Sounds kinda boring actually.

But how many of us really know what heaven is supposed to look like anyway? So in the meantime, let’s imagine the next best thing…

✨☁️🌙✨☁️✨☁️🌙✨☁️

heaven on earth

✨☁️🌙✨☁️✨☁️🌙✨☁️

To me, heaven on earth means to be present. To live in this now moment and appreciate it to the fullest. Once we decide to be present, we start to notice little things that perhaps we’ve never really noticed before and it takes on an extra, almost unexplainable dimension. It becomes magical.

Depending on how you perceive life, this can be easy or difficult.

Here are some simple suggestions on ways to experience heaven on earth, I believe that each of us is probably already doing this one way or another – the only difference is that you are fully aware & conscious of doing these things:

Waking up, paying attention to your breath and saying ‘thank you’. How often do we really pay attention to the simple act of breathing? If we didn’t breathe, we wouldn’t be alive.

Wake up early and witness the sun rising, or go to the beach and witness the sun setting and see how amazing the sky looks during. The colors of the sky are simply breathtaking during those two daily, natural events.

Hanging out with crystals; I find that by going to a local metaphysical store that has lots of beautiful crystals can literally feel like heaven on earth! It’s hard to be in a bad mood when you’re surrounded by crystals.

Find enjoyment and pleasure in whatever you are doing – especially the mundane, day-to-day stuff; whether you’re driving, washing dishes or working at your computer.

Surround yourself with the things that you love and find to be beautiful. My home is filled with art, books, crystals and stones. A vase full of flowers.

Looking up at the night sky and appreciating the moon and the stars.

Meditating in silence.

Learning something new.

Dancing.

Listening to your favorite song.

Actively thinking positive thoughts and looking for ways to feel good without the need to use drugs.

The list can go on and on, really.

What are some of the ways you have personally experienced heaven on earth?

WTF Does It Really Mean to Live A High Vibe Life?

This is a spontaneous blog post that I felt compelled to write today.

As I was taking photos and listing crystals on the website, getting up every so often, doing laundry and giving belly rubs to my cat…my spirits felt high, and I had just made another sale. I felt happy and grateful, to the point where I felt as if I was on cloud 9. My dreams are coming true and I am living my best life. Everything is perfect.

So I just wanted to write this today for those who might be wondering:

WTF does it really mean to live a high vibe life?

I am writing this from my perspective so it might be a little bit sloppy and imperfect. Bare with me here.

The term “high vibe” is a popular term being used a lot these days, to the point where it’s actually sickening to hear it over and over again (as least for me anyway)! That and “good vibes only”. You see all these happy, good looking, fit people on Instagram posting the most perfect photos of themselves in front of an ocean or something, doing some kind of yoga pose…

I will tell you right now that THAT is not me. I’m pretty sure that if you’re reading this – that’s probably not who you are either.

But that doesn’t mean you’re not living your best and high vibrational life. And no offense to the people who do yoga in front of the ocean, it’s just not my style.😉

What I’m trying to say is that your “high vibe” life may look different to others. Your high vibe life is really based on how you feel, what you think and how you see life. In simple terms: whatever truly makes you happy.

Here are some hints that you are living a high vibe life:

(I want to mention again that these are not absolutes, I am just trying to write more from my own point of view)

+ You feel and know intuitively that you are balanced in all your bodies: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. How do you know that you are balanced? It’s not like we can see our auras. But you don’t have to see your aura to know you’re balanced; if you are balanced: you don’t feel like you’re holding onto anything in your bodies, you are in tune with it and know how to release something that doesn’t feel good (like a feeling of tension).

+ You have integrated your shadow self. A lot of people also talk about their shadow a lot these days. Everyone has one. The shadow is the dark aspects of us, the parts of us that we repress and don’t want others to see. If you’re living a high vibe life, you acknowledge that your shadow is a part of you and you don’t try to hide it from others. You are simultaneously dark and light just like the yin & yang symbol.

+ You no longer feel the need to criticize, be overly opinionated or talk shit about others (including yourself). You stay neutral and mind your own business.

+ You actively work towards your goals instead of complaining that you can’t or it’s too hard to certain things.

+ You attract more and more good and positive people and situations to you, and you don’t have to try so hard for it to happen.

+ You wake up with gratitude for all that you already have.

There’s a whole lot more to list but these are just the first few that came to mind.

Living a high vibe life doesn’t necessarily mean everything’s going to be peachy and perfect from here on out. But I can guarantee you that it can get a whole lot easier, and it all starts with us.

So how do I shift in order to experience a high vibe life?

I am going to see Blade Runner 2049 today and will return to add more to this. Or I will write another blog post. We shall see!

Actually, here’s a perfect article to read on raising your vibration: 5 Ways to Raise Your Vibration Right Now

Pictured above are crystals from my personal collection: a XL Angel Aura Smokey Quartz, an Angel Aura Skull and a Smoky Amethyst. My high vibe life pretty much looks just like how I described in the first paragraph – surrounded by crystals and stones, being in my house with my cat and husband working on the crystal business. It sounds super simple and probably even boring to some but that to me is my vision of a high vibe life.

So what does your high vibe life look like?

What Can A Crystal Do For You? Part I

This may or may not be an ongoing series at Metaphysical Vibes. I actually wanted to write a lengthy blog post about what crystals can do for you, but it was reaching a point where I was just putting it off and overthinking what I should write about.

So instead, I will write about it and break it down into short posts; basically keeping it simple and writing from a more intuitive place. The thing is, when it comes to writing about crystals is that one topic tends to lead to another – meaning that once you answer one question, another question comes up and so forth and so forth. Learning about the crystal kingdom literally means going down the rabbit hole.🐰🌀

So let’s begin!✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨💎✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

What Can A Crystal Do For You?

One of the things a crystal can do for you is raise your vibration.

Well, what does ‘raising your vibration’ even mean?

It means elevating our mood – our emotions, our feelings, our overall perspective. More specifically, our aura or our personal electromagnetic field which holds information about our mental, spiritual and physical condition. A crystal can act as a teacher or as a mirror or even as a clear channel to access the Divine and bring down those higher vibrations.

What are higher vibrations?

Higher vibrations are the unseen energies that exist above and beyond us but we always have access to; they are much higher and lighter because they aren’t bogged down by the human experience or the third dimension. Cosmic, universal, ascended masters and angelic energies are considered high vibrational, so are Quartz crystals.

I also want to add that a ‘low’ vibration doesn’t necessarily mean bad, just different. Here is a quote from Nikola Tesla that sums it up perfectly:

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

What does it mean to access the Divine?

The Divine has many names – you might call it God, the Universe, Spirit, Source, etc. You might even be specific and identify with a male or female deity, or recognize the divine through nature and the elements and animals; either way, they are all one and the same.

What does all of this have to do with crystals?

Crystals, with their perfect internal structure can help us open up that channel. And when that channel opens up and we attune ourselves to its subtle energy, our personal vibration begins to elevate to that level. This is when we begin to experience what many in the metaphysical community call as ‘crystal healing’.

Our minds tend to overcomplicate things and we seem to want a more definitive, even logical answer of what crystals can do for us. But for now, I will end this blog post on that note and hope that you will think about it and maybe even try it by holding a crystal for a few minutes.

What Are Your Favorite Crystals & Stones?

We asked some of our friends over at our Metaphysical Vibes’ Instagram & Facebook pages to see what is everyone’s favorite crystals and stones. Here are the responses we received:

  • earthscuriousgoods Citrine is my favorite because of it’s ability to cleanse almost anything
  • freshelitemadam Always Garnet and Amethyst and theres a Ice Blue one…but I forgot the name.
  • acejoeyt Ye Ming Zhu is my favorite … Qi energy
  • Mandy Gough Labradorite and Amber are my jam. Labradorite for its mystery. The light, sparkle and some that seems to come from blackest depths. Amber for the sun, the brightness and warmth, the tree blood, full of life and potential…

As for us? It’s really hard to say because we love all the crystals and stones – some you connect with at different times of your life, some you have yet to meet. Red Tiger’s Eye was my favorite for a long time. But lately, for me it’s been Chrysoprase and any kind of Quartz, while my husband really likes Fluorite.

5 Reasons You May Be Attracted to Crystals & Stones

There is something magical and ethereal about crystals. Sometimes I myself don’t quite understand why I like them and have decided to make it my business to sell them. If my future self told me 5 years ago that I would be doing what I do now, I would probably not believe it. Regardless, here are 5 reasons you may be attracted to crystals and stones.

1. You’re seeking or searching for something.

Perhaps you’re looking for answers, you need a life problem solved or you need some kind of healing on a physical, emotional or spiritual level. That’s usually one of the main reasons people start using crystals for metaphysical or spiritual purposes.

2. Your friends won’t stop talking about it.

Maybe you have a friend who’s really into it and they just can’t stop talking about crystals; or you go to their house and see gemstones and rocks lying around. It starts to makes you wonder about them, doesn’t it?

3. You love the colors and shapes of Mother Earth’s creations.

How cool is it that the place we inhabit produces such beautiful, natural works of art? Gemstones have attracted humans for ages, this is nothing new. Look up the ancient history of the Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, etc.

Read this article on 10 Ancient Egyptian Gemstones

4. You’ve heard about their healing powers.

It’s hard to explain how a crystal or a stone can heal us, but just know that we have a similar makeup to crystals, and vice versa. Look up the term “human crystal”. Go to your local metaphysical store or start hanging around the metaphysical community and you will start to know why those people believe in the power of crystals.

For a more personal experience, try holding a crystal in your hand for a couple of minutes and see if you can feel something.

5. You’re being called to a higher purpose.

Perhaps you are drawn to crystals & stones because there is a higher purpose for you that you have yet to discover; maybe your intuition is calling you to become a healer or some kind of spiritual advisor. Whatever your calling is, crystals can definitely open up those channels for you and help you find whatever it is you are meant to do.

Here’s the thing though – crystals and stones won’t solve ALL your problems. You will still have to do your part on making things happen, it is your life afterall. Think of crystals as helpers, gentle assistants who will nudge you towards the right direction if that is truly what you desire.

Conclusion:

There’s probably more reasons not covered on this list, but 5 was a good start.

Why are you attracted to crystals and stones?

Opal Glitter Holographic Quartz Points

Perhaps you’re a crystal lover looking for something inexpensive to buy online?

Using common quartz as the material, let me introduce you to my latest creations: Opal Glitter Holographic Quartz (or Opal Glitter Holo Quartz works too).

If you follow me on my personal Instagram account (@savethesavages), you’ll see in one of my posts that I’ve been obsessing about how Aura Quartz and its most popular varieties (Aqua and Rainbow) are made. I Googled so much information on the process (bonding gold or other metal vapors to the crystal in a process called vacuum or vapor deposition) that I was tired of reading about it…

I wanted to experiment and create my own version; not exactly the same process but I had fun playing and I’m quite happy with how they turned out.

I used Opal Glitter and Gold Glitter spray paint from Krylon, and a holographic spray paint called Spaz Stix. It took a few coats of spraying, drying and spraying again within a span of 4 days. I also cleansed and charged these points with water, kosher salt & water, sun rays, palo santo and kyanite.

These points get shimmery and subtly change color in sunlight or any indoor light source. These crystals are perfect for creating a sparkly crystal grid or just to have.

Quartz combined with opal, gold glitter and holographic spray paint amplifies sparkly and beautiful feelings.

My intention was to sell these at first, but I’ve decided to keep them. I only sold 1 of these actually. They have attuned to my personal vibration because I’ve been using them in my crystal grids.

Opinions vary in the metaphysical world; some may or may not like enhanced crystals. I just discovered recently while searching online for the Aura Quartz treatment, that manmade crystals also exist! Apparently their internal structure is identical to that of natural crystals.

Anyway, before I go off in a tangent; I wanted people to consider this:

We enhance our bodies, our physical appearances; we dye our hair, wear certain clothes and colors, paint our nails, make ourselves look more attractive. To each their own, as we all get different vibrations from stones and crystals.

Work with a crystal that resonates with you.

Welcome to Metaphysical Vibes!

Welcome to our brand new metaphysical rock shop! Our purpose is to connect you with these wonderful mineral specimens, as well as to help you increase your knowledge and appreciation of the mineral kingdom!

As you may already know, everything is energy – energy that vibrates at different frequencies. Crystals and stones carry that same energy on a subtle level that can help us with our issues, also known as dis-ease; we just have to learn how to tune in to that energy. We do this through meditation with the crystal or stone of choice.

Although we are enthusiastic about working with crystals for healing purposes, we don’t suggest that you rely on it solely; you still need to consult a doctor if you’re not feeling well. You still need to use some common sense. But a stone or crystal CAN and WILL assist you with energy healing, if you open your mind and heart. Thus the term ‘metaphysical’.

How did I get to this point?

In the years following my mom’s death, I sort of felt lost. My mom had passed away from ovarian cancer in 2006 and ever since then, it seemed as if I was always looking for something to help me make sense of my life. I wasn’t suicidal but at the same time, I wasn’t excited about living. At first, the dark side of the occult attracted me; dark images inspired my art and the teachings of Anton Szandor Lavey made so much sense to me at the time since my mom always tried to push Christianity on me but just never fully clicked.

To make a long story short, I was exploring spirituality for the first time with my own eyes and ended up buying my first set of stones from an occult shop in the San Fernando Valley in 2012. The descriptions they had with the stones resonated with me. I also started seeking the magickal teachings of Aleister Crowley, Eliphas Levi and others; I started learning how to read tarot for myself via books, and I kept collecting more stones and books from various metaphysical stores in the LA area. I started taking classes on crystals, tarot, developing intuition at House of Intuition in LA. My current knowledge is a combination of self study and taking classes.

And so here I am, forever learning and experiencing All That Is. And I hope you will learn with me.
