Crystal of the Day: Phantom Chlorite Quartz👻

I read something in Robert Simmons’ Book of Stones where he says (just not in these exact words) that everything he writes in his books is channeled information and is not scientifically proven. It is all based on personal experimentation: spending time meditating with the crystals and stones and recording the information he receives to learn about how they affect him personally.

So instead of me googling or reaching for my copy of Book of Stones, I will do my best to tell you about this fantastic mineral specimen: Phantom Chlorite Quartz

However, we ALL need support. Just like we have friends and teachers who want to see us be happy and successful beings, our generous earth wants the same – just on a larger scale.

So once you get into crystals, your love will definitely expand. Not just for yourself, but for all beings. You will gain a new appreciation for the world you live in, and so much more.

Video: ASMR Reiki & Crystal Healing Roleplay

While looking for crystal healing videos, I stumbled on this one. I had no clue that the ASMR community has incorporated Reiki & Crystal Healing into their videos! I’m not mad at it either, as a matter of fact I watched a few minutes of it and found it very relaxing. I couldn’t watch it all though because I’m not at home. Also, it’s best to have some headphones on when watching these videos so you can turn up the volume, hear her talking with her soft voice as well as hear all the tapping sounds.

For those who don’t know, ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. You can read all about it here.

One of the first ASMR videos I actually watched was by Gentle Whispering. Oddly enough, she also did a video with crystals in it!

I am really in awe of everyone’s creativity on YouTube. So yeah, even if it is just ‘roleplay’, I admire how much detail each ASMR artist puts into their videos.

I’ve been wanting to do YouTube videos, but I’m not sure what I would make my videos about.

Grounding with Crystals & Stones

Grounding – you probably hear that word a lot if you’re into metaphysical or spiritual topics.

But what IS grounding and why is it important?

We hear the word ‘ground’ often – everyday actually but don’t think much of it, as a matter of fact I think we take it for granted.

We live on the ground, the ground which is the earth. Our feet are on it and we’re standing on it everyday. But again, we don’t think much of it.

Grounding is important because when we don’t ground, our energy can be all over the place and it’s more likely that things can go wrong throughout your day. We might even find ourselves in a situation that we didn’t see coming because we didn’t ground ourselves.

So what is grounding then?

Grounding is the intentional act of connecting to your body, the ground and to the earth.

You might be thinking to yourself as you read this ‘but I’m already on the ground, I’m already here.’

Are you really here though, or is your spirit wandering while someone is talking to you? You can be physically ‘here’ but still wander. Every single one of us is definitely guilty of daydreaming, thinking about yesterday, worrying about the future or just overthinking in general. We all get distracted one way or another.

So, how do we ground?

We ground by visualizing that we are connected to the earth through a grounding cord. Your grounding cord can be anything.

One of the ways to achieve this is by visualizing roots coming out of your feet and going deep into the ground just like a tree, or you can imagine an electric bolt of lightning piercing through you and running straight into the ground, straight into the core of the earth.

Most people use the tree as a perfect metaphor for grounding: a tree has its roots planted firmly into the earth. It is not easily shaken or will fall down if it’s a windy day, nor will it just slip away when it’s raining hard.

This is what we want to achieve when we are grounding ourselves – we want to be firmly ‘planted’ to the ground and not be swayed when we’re faced with stressful people or situations. You want to be calm and centered.

Do this everyday – before you leave your home, before you start driving or whenever you just feel ‘spacey’. You can ground wherever you are, even when you’re just standing somewhere.

Some popular crystals and stones that can help with grounding:

Agates – calm and stabilizing

Black Tourmaline – protects and purifies

Hematite – great for those who are extra spaced out

Obsidian – protects and releases

Jaspers – nurturing and creative Earth energy

Jet – protects

Smokey Quartz – transmutes negative energy

Even Quartz crystals when programmed, can be used for grounding; crystals and stones that are of a darker color – black, brown, gray, red.

You can place them near you whether at home or at work, you can also place them in your car.

Video: Women Try Crystal Healing For Chronic Pain

I stumbled upon this interesting video while considering another certification in crystal healing.

What was so interesting about it? The two girls seemed like total skeptics to me, which is a perfect example because that’s how most of us start when trying something we don’t fully understand – we laugh and joke about it but were still willing to try it anyway.

What was even more interesting was that while one girl went 180 the other one still remained skeptical. Overall it was worth a watch, I also admire how the crystal healer handled these two women with such grace and power.

I posted this video here because while I am running this crystal shop, I am also delving deeper by expanding my knowledge and experience in these healing modalities. I just love this kind of stuff so it fascinates and inspires me even more when I can witness the subtle power of a crystal healing.

To me, a crystal healing is not just the healer and the crystals doing the healing – the person receiving the healing is also a participant in their own healing. In fact, a crystal healing may even be the catalyst for your self-healing journey – as I believe that people can heal themselves. Your higher self lead you to the experience for a reason.

Crystal of the Day: Amphibole “Angel Phantom” Quartz

What can I say about Amphibole Quartz that hasn’t already been said online…

it’s a Quartz crystal filled with all kinds of other minerals – Crocidolite or blue asbestos, Hematite, Kaolinite, Limonite and more – when cut and polished it creates what looks like flowing, wispy wings and texture inside the crystal, thus giving it the nicknames Angel Phantom Quartz or Amphibole Lightning Quartz.

Definition of amphibole from dictionary.com:

any of a complex group of hydrous silicate minerals, containing chiefly calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and aluminum, and including hornblende, tremolite, asbestos, etc., occurring as important constituents of many rocks.

And yes, the mineral group does give you the vibe of angel phantoms and lightning – for me personally, I imagine visions of fiery angels accompanied by gray clouds and thunderous flashes of bright light descending down from the heavens with giant, wispy wings.🔥

Wouldn’t that would be a mind blowing experience!⚡👁⚡

Some articles describe Angel Phantom Quartz as gentle. My personal opinion: it is not gentle and soft at all, but loud and somewhat intense. I suppose it depends on each individual specimen, but this particular one is definitely fiery, most likely from red Hematite.

So while we’re waiting for angels to appear to us, we have a perfect 3D representation of that powerful, ethereal and angelic force – the Amphibole Quartz. You can work with Amphibole Quartz to open the 3rd and 6th or 7th chakras – as they work together to assist you with creative manifestation from a higher, more spiritual plane.

I also want to add that you don’t have to believe in angels to appreciate Angel Phantom Quartz – from an artistic point of view, the amphiboles also look like layers of three dimensional brush strokes from a painting. Mother nature is truly amazing.

Because it’s Quartz which is programmable and contains all other colors within itself; and that there are so many other minerals present in Amphibole Quartz, I believe that you can balance all chakras as well with this crystal.

Crystal Book Reads: Cosmic Crystals by RA Bonewitz

Often times I’ll buy a book based on its cover and this one is no exception. I love the typography, the use of star and crystal elements – a combination I never seem to tire of. Vintage books are probably more interesting cover-wise than most modern book covers these days, at least to me.

On the back cover of the book it says:

Ra Bonewitz is the foremost authority on the spiritual aspects of crystals. A scientist, professional geologist, psychic and mystic, he is a unique combination of the practical and the intuitive. As well as working as a trance medium and healer, he travels widely giving lectures and workshops on crystal energies and their applications.

I’ve not finished the book but have jumped around mostly, I confess that I have a hard time finishing all sorts of books because I go in and out of being interested.

Nonetheless, this is a fascinating book to have in your collection if you love and appreciate crystals and minerals both from a geological and metaphysical point of view.

The full title of the book is Cosmic Crystals – Crystal Consciousness and the New Age, the author is Ra Bonewitz.

Video: The Sage Goddess on Success and How to Grow Your Etsy Shop

Some sage advice from the Sage Goddess herself, Athena Perrakis on success and how to grow your Etsy shop.

I’m posting this here because A) it’s metaphysical related and B) I personally got a lot out of it. I’m definitely learning as I go with having this small business! I’m thankful that mystical women entrepreneurs are sharing their knowledge and expertise with us.

I also think that a lot of people who visit my website also want to start a business of their own or already have one. I believe this video will be helpful to you.

Entrepreneurship is huge right now; I don’t think there’s ever been a time where literally everyone owns a business of some sort. It’s quite fascinating to be alive in the 21st century, isn’t it?

Watch this video if you are someone who:

Wants to have an online business with physical products
Someone who wants to have a conscious business

I want to add that even though Athena is basing it off her own experience from having an actual store with products in it, the keys below still apply to those of us (myself included) who operate an online shop.

Start with a demand.
You cannot maintain success without a customer demand for your products or services.
Understand and appreciate your audience.
Figure out how they think so you can solve their problems and make them feel heard and appreciated.
Establish the business.
Figure out as much of the nuts and bolts of business as you can while still employed.
Craft an authentic brand.
You won’t be able to maintain your marketing efforts and grow your online community if the brand is inauthentic.
Listen to your intuition.
Quiet your mind. Block out fears, doubts, deadlines, competitors, experts, etc. so you can hear your inner voice.
Build a strong team.
Find the right employees, make them feel valued and set their expectations about how you operate up front.
Don’t forget about self care.
Don’t build your vision at the expense of yourself.
Find a way to stay present.
Make sure you enjoy the journey itself. Don’t miss the meaningful moments along the way.
Stay grateful.
Develop a simple daily gratitude practice.

Wasn’t that wonderful? The 9 keys are simple yet very impactful.

Yet I know what you’re thinking. You’re probably wondering: well why didn’t she talk about money at all, I mean isn’t that the number one objective in having a business?

I say watch the video again because you may have missed some of the important things she says, like taking risks.

Taking risks is different for everybody. For Athena, she had to make sure that her family was taken care of before she left her corporate job.

I’m in that same exact boat right now. Yes, I’m pursuing my dream. But having a business is a risk and as much as I want this to be my fulltime thing right now, I still have to think about who and what I am responsible. I have bills to pay and a cat to feed AND I live in Los Angeles; it can get expensive.

And so while I build up this business, I still have my fulltime job.

Conclusion:

I believe that if you follow these 9 keys, the money will come. But you also have to be patient and be willing to stick it out.

Learning the Ancient Art of Crystal Healing

I wasn’t sure where to post this for a few reasons:

It’s personal
This is a crystal shop blog
I actually have a few websites

But at the same time, I wanted to post it here because:

It is about crystals
It’s also about crystal healing, which is tied to the use of crystals and stones
Maybe you want to learn it too and so I figured I would share my learning experience here.😊
I promised myself that I would blog here once a week.

Some of the possible reasons why you’re wanting to learn crystal healing or crystal therapy:

You have a strong desire to know and heal yourself.
You want to expand and deepen your knowledge of crystals and stones.
You want to understand how crystals can actually heal the mind, body and spirit.
You want to be in greater service to yourself and others.

I wanted to learn crystal healing for some time now, but didn’t know where to go.

There are a few reputable places to learn online and you’ve probably heard of them – Hibiscus Moon, Love & Light School of Crystal Therapy, Krista Mitchell and more that I can’t think of at the moment.

There’s also a very informative book series on the subject that I think a lot of the online schools I mentioned above use to teach crystal healing to students. I also reference it a lot throughout Metaphysical Vibes shop website, it’s called Crystal Healing Volumes 1-3 by Katrina Raphaell – I’ve added a link to the first book. Katrina really goes in depth with each of her books and I have so much love, gratitude and respect for all the knowledge that she shared.

Ultimately, as much as these online courses offered lots of useful information and flexibility – I just wasn’t sure if I could commit to it fully.

The thing with online courses is (they’re great, don’t get me wrong) – sometimes the information doesn’t stick, at least for me.

Also because it’s so convenient, I mean you’re learning online and from home – distraction and laziness ensues. Go figure!

But if I commit to getting up every weekend; showering, dressing up, driving and attending an actual class, learning from an actual person and partnering up with different people in your class, then the information sinks in a lot more.

So I decided it would be best to learn in person and went with the highly venerated Rev. Patricia Bankins who just so happened to be offering her 8 week course on Trans Crystal Therapy. She is the founder and owner of The Crystal Matrix here in Los Angeles, CA.

Update 6/12/18: I completed the 8 week course and my final on June 9th, 2018. I am officially a Certified Trans Crystal Therapist⭐

To tell you the truth, I really don’t know what compelled me to start learning all of this.

The only thing I can really think of is that I needed to heal parts of myself so I can be better qualified to assist others with their own healing, even though I really don’t consider myself a ‘healer’. You can read more about it here on my personal blog.

Also, when I started Metaphysical Vibes – my initial goal was to have an online crystal shop, make money and hopefully quit my fulltime job. Needless to say, the crystals wanted me to experience something beyond those superficial desires.

I have learned so much about the chakras and the corresponding crystals or stones, sensing and feeling the aura, acupressure points, meridians and so much more. I even witnessed a girl in my class experience an intense emotional release through it.

I’m pretty certain that the crystals lead me to this point so I could be in service to others on a deeper level.

I have so many teachers to thank really, but I will save it for another blog post.💖

So we’ll see where this goes!

Everything Takes Time to Grow and Evolve

Everything takes time to grow and evolve…

especially us humans.

As I think about how to grow my crystal shop online through writing content, sharing it on social channels, SEO, etc., I started pondering how long it took for crystals to grow into the beautiful crystalline beings they are now.

In comparison, crystal growth takes A LOT longer than human consciousness. It ONLY took our Earth 4 BILLION+ years to be where she is now and I’m pretty sure she’s not done.

So why is it so hard to just be patient with ourselves?

Why is it so hard to just ‘be’ where we are right now?

Because humans have this innate desire to create and be something; I believe we are descendants of a higher intelligence that coded this into our existence. There’s even a few scientific articles that states we have alien DNA in our bodies. Is it a possibility that these aliens are actually us?👽

But I digress.

I ask these questions because I am the same exact way. Sometimes I am impatient and a bit hard on myself, I want to see results right now.

Ever since I was kid I couldn’t ‘wait’ to be a grownup. I couldn’t wait to get my driver’s license, drive and go places. When I was 15 years old, I couldn’t ‘wait’ to be 18 so I could finally be independent and away from my parents.

My issues sound really mundane, but a lot of us actually think this way.

Just like Luke Skywalker in Star Wars – I was always looking ahead to the future.

And so now looking back at my childhood as an adult, everything seems like a blur. I wasn’t very present, I always wanted to escape somehow.

I guess what I’m trying to say here is 🐢SLOW DOWN🐢 and enjoy the growth process itself.

At times the growth process will fluctuate between fun and exciting to annoying and uncomfortable, but try to ‘be with’ whatever it is you are experiencing right now.

I wish I had done this, but even as I write this I know that people will learn things when the time is right for them to do so.

Living in the age of the internet doesn’t help – we want convenience and instant EVERYTHING.

The more reason to practice patience, self love and gratitude for where you are now.

In some ways, I am glad to have been chosen as a crystal custodian as the crystals will always teach us something. Perhaps that is why they chose me, so I can learn to slow down and enjoy the now, for this exact moment will never be repeated again.

Growth, evolution and healing takes time. Be patient, be kind and most of all loving towards yourself – people will come and go in your life but in the end – you are the only person you have to live with for the rest of your life.
